The aim of this course is to provide students with an understanding of management concepts, theories, and business operational functions within organizations that operate globally. The course content focuses on the effective and efficient planning and management of work activities at a global business level. At the completion of the course, students will have gained knowledge and skills to design, implement and change operating systems to improve the effectiveness and efficiency within any organization.\ At the end of the course, students should be able: Appreciate the importance of human resource management as a field of study and as a central management function. Understand the implications of human resource management theories on management decisions. Know the elements of the HR function (e.g. – recruitment, selection, training, and development, etc.) and be familiar with each element’s key concepts & terminology; and Apply the principles and techniques of human resource management gained through this course to the discussion of major personnel issues and the solution of typical case problems, especially when managing a global workforce.
